Episode 107: What About Evil?

Mary and Erin engage the topic of an ancient problem with a fresh and intrepid new energy.

Have you ever thought of evil people as the punk teenager souls that are testing the limits of the (Universal) law?

Have you ever wondered why vampire books and movies are ever-popular? Do you have confidence in yourself that you are able to recognize an evil person and avoid them?

Mary says,
“Forgiveness of evil gets us out of hell

If we don’t forgive evil, we remain vulnerable to it.

Evil only wins for as long as we allow it to diminish us, and when we forgive the situation, our powerful act  gives us new boundaries and protection from future evils.

We emerge whole and free, and unbroken, because the goodness of the human spirit refuses to be crushed – it always triumphs!

So, fight the good fight, but fight it with a twinkle in your eye, and the light of your spirit coming forth.”

Episode 106: The Upside of Anger – Part II

Unexpressed anger eats us up inside.

Healthy anger is that little bit of fire you need sometimes to set things right.
It helps you know who you are and what you want and do not want in your life.

But how do you handle a flare of rage that rises towards your boss, or your small child, or someone who can hurt you if you show your anger?

Mary helps Erin along with her nervousness about feeling anger as she discusses safe ways of releasing rage to gain relief from frustrating obsession and rumination when we’ve been done wrong.

Hear the story of the woman who’s long term health condition cleared up after releasing her rage and forgiving her ex, and the story of how a parent can help a frustrated child who’s being picked on.

Mary says, “Your belly is where you carry your power… sometimes you need to go to a private place, and shout it out, from the belly … and then you forgive them.”

Rock on, people. Forgiveness – after you let your anger out first – makes us free.

Episode 105: “Why did you let that happen, God? “Forgiving God when life is not fair and just too much.

Life gets “life-y” sometimes – when there’s a  sudden pile of unfortunate things to handle that we didn’t expect. And sometimes we grapple with being disappointed in life because our way is blocked and difficult .

Even though we are good people who live the faith or pray a lot, it seems like God isn’t listening. What do we do when we feel all alone with our difficulties, and God doesn’t seem to care?

Mary says, “God does not help us avoid pain. God helps us know who we are through the pain, and helps us move into new joys. Human beings are amazing and resilient, with an unquenchable spark of God within us. If we’re unhappy with “God,” it’s because we have to grow beyond our former concept of God, and find the new understanding that brings us forward.”

Does this sound heavy? But …. NO!

Mary is at her slapstick best in this conversation as she shares her poignant and hilarious story of her fight with God about her frustration with lack of control in pregnancy and childbirth.

Enjoy some hefty philosophy delivered painlessly and with a flourish as Mary and Erin explore this most difficult of human dilemmas: how to forgive God.
