Psychosynthesis is the life’s work of an Italian psychiatrist, Dr. Roberto Assagioli (1888 – 1974.) From an early age until the time of his death, Assagioli developed a comprehensive model of transpersonal psychology which integrates Eastern spirituality with Western psychological theory, as well as advancing a vision of humanity’s highest potentials.

Like other transpersonal psychology, Psychosynthesis concerns itself with the importance of spiritual experiences and unifying and transcendent states of consciousness in the personality’s journey into health, maturity, and joyful living. Dubbed “the psychology with a soul,” Dr. Assagioli developed a brilliant and balanced theoretical base, as well as a number of practical therapeutic techniques that give practitioner and client a common spiritual language, and tools to promote growth and healing.

This training will provide an introduction and an overview of the important components of the Psychosynthesis model; we will also focus in on specific aspects and provide simple tools that will rapidly enhance and support your work with clients.

Learning Objectives

Review the history of the life and work of Dr. Roberto Assagioli and his holistic vision of psychology and human potential.

Understand the concept of “psychosynthesis,” a process of harmonizing disparate elements of the personality, and fostering connection with the soul

Gain a model of spiritual growth that is non-religious and utilize a tool that can be used in secular settings and with clients of various faith backgrounds

Evaluate and discuss the process and value of using Assagioli’s concept of subpersonalities with your clients

Practice an exercise in energy grounding, self containment, and protection that can aid clients who are scattered and overly influenced by others

Discuss and develop strategies for applying Psychosynthesis techniques in a clinical practice
